Negative Sides Of Looksmaxxing
A good song could be annoying if you play it on repeat over time, and it’s the same for almost everything. Looksmaxxing is a current trend; it is a practice in which people perform several body care routines in an effort to improve one’s physical appearance. I’m a huge fan of looksmaxxing; it improves your physical appearance and facial structure. However, even this self-care has its bad side effects.
Nowadays, around 30-40% of people are insecure about their looks and height. They are so desperately trying to looksmaxx themselves, but the obsession becomes so powerful that all they care about is their skin, hair, and outfit, even while they go for a hangout. They forget to live in the moment. Looksmaxxing is not a bad thing, but when it becomes addictive, the problem starts from there. If you could do it at a healthy level, you are most welcome to do so, just don’t go overboard.
You don’t need to make things super complicated; you need to focus on one part of your body at a time. It could be your hair, your skin, or maybe your outfit. You need to enjoy the journey; there is no point in rushing. The model or Chad you saw on Instagram has been doing it for a decade, and now they look like this; they didn’t do it overnight.
Psychology says, “People who consistently compare themselves with others never live happily.” If you are one of them, trust me, this could ruin your life because not everyone has the same genes or bone structure; different humans have different advantages than others. The more you compare yourself with others, the more depressed and lost you feel in this loophole. And the most important thing is that the model or Chad you saw online shows the best version of themselves.
Now the point is, should you stop looksmaxxing? The answer is ‘No’. The thing you should stop is comparing yourself with others. Stop chasing unrealistic goals such as increasing height; these are not in your hands. Try to focus on those things that you could improve. Appreciate yourself, love yourself, get close with God if you are religious, try to mark your strong sides. I want you to live your fullest life, live the best life you deserve. Until then, live your fullest life relentlessly.
